In Greece, IOM is focusing on responding to the Mediterranean migrant’s crisis, in support of the Greek Government and in cooperation with all other agencies involved. IOM currently implements interventions within the areas of emergency, preparedness and response, disaster risk reduction, livelihoods, healthcare and psychosocial assistance, assisted voluntary return of migrants, migration and development, resettlement and repatriation, family reunification, counter human trafficking, assistance to vulnerable migrants.
Context:
In the framework of the emergency situation regarding the migrants, asylum seekers and refugees across Greece, IOM Greece is establishing a pool of candidates interested to join the organisation.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the National Non Formal Education Coordinator, the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
• Implementing the designed educational programs and enhancing teaching activities
• Designing targeted experiential class exercises that target intercultural development (both for children and adults)
• Organize entertainment/cultural activities for productive spirit cultivation and cognitive development
• Observe and monitor learning development of student participants efficiently
• Keep individual records of participants capacities, competencies and needs
• Keep individual records, including daily observations and information about activities
• Keep individual records of all exercises and assignments of student participants
• Assist and/or instruct children and adults on learning methods and processes
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned
• Perform such other duties that may be assigned
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent or higher) in Education, Pedagogy or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or
• Bachelor’s degree of higher education in another field with two years of a relevant professional experience in education;

Experience
• Familiar with direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees;
• Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a multi-cultural setting;
• Demonstrated ability to draft and prepare clear and concise formal correspondence and project reports;
• Strong organizational, facilitation, communication, writing and presentations skills;
• Proficient use of commonly used IT equipment and the appropriate software solutions;
• At least two years of previous relevant work experience;
• Computer literacy in standard software applications (MS Office etc.);
• Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles;
Languages
• Proficiency in English, and Greek.
