Main purposePerforming the day to day order processing activities in a particular supply office (coordination or project level) according to MSF protocols and standards in order to ensure an optimal running of the mission/project

Accountabilities

  • Being responsible for the supply database and the correct filing and archiving of the supply documentation in order to guarantee the availability and the coherence of supply data

  • Processing all orders and requests and communicating regularly on their status with the initial clients: order received, approval stage, confirmation, RTS monitoring, backorder, lead times, and reporting problems to his/her line management

  • Communicating with local and international suppliers (status of order, claims) and reporting problems to line management

  • Performing delegated tasks according to his/her activity and as specified in his/her job description Collecting Internal Requests from the departments. Analyzing the needs with the requesters. Updating the IR file.

  • Preparing an Internal Request monitoring file to share it with the requesters on a standard basis.

  • Prossessing IR according to the procedures and order planning. Collaborating with Supply Chain Manager for the sourcing.

  • Encoding the commitment documents in Unifield with the collaboration of the Purchasing Officer.

  • Collecting signatures of the responsibles defined by the validation table for all Supply related documentation (Purchase Orders, Incoming Shipments)

  • Submitting the suppliers’ invoices with their supporting documents to the Finance Department for payment.

  • Filing Supply documents according to the Supply and GDPR procedures

  • Preparing the delivery documents for local transportations or to Athens.

  • Preparing loan and donation forms and updating the follow up files

  • Following up of the orders according to their defined delivery lead time and reporting problems to his/her line manager

  • Assisting the Supply Chain Manager in preparing of the replenishment orders by providing consumption reports.

  • Assisting the Supply Chain Manager in preparing activity reports.

  • Performing additional tasks to support the Supply Team, when it is asked by the Supply Chain Manager (for example physical inventories, reception of items in the field).

Requirements

  • Education: Essential, secondary education; commerce related studies desirable

  • Essential in supply chain management (minimum 2 years) and in organization of supply administration and procedures.

  • Desirable proven understanding of MSF Field Logistics (general knowledge of MSF equipment and kits in accordance to the nature of the project) Languages: English language essential, French is an asset

Main purpose

Providing nursing care, treatment and follow-up of patients (mainly children and adolescent), according to doctors’ prescriptions, protocols applied in service and universal hygiene standards/precautions, in order to ensure the quality and continuity of care for the targeted population

Accountabilities

  • Knowing, promoting, implementing and following up the universal hygiene standards/ precautions, bio-hazard prevention and infection control, security rules and other protocols and procedures in the medical premises and ensuring high standards of hygiene of his/her working environment.

  • Respecting medical secrets and confidentiality at all times.

  • Organizing and carrying out care and treatments according to medical prescriptions, and assisting during consultations, daily rounds and other medical procedures. Participating in health education of the patient (and family) when necessary.

  • Identifying Sexually Gender Based Violence victims and referring them to the midwife so they can receive the necessary treatment. Knowing and is aware of the importance and appropriate use of the Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) Kit

  • Ensuring patients are properly received and installed and that those with lack of autonomy are assisted, especially regarding their feeding, personal hygiene, movements and comfort.

  • Ensuring triage of patients in waiting areas or during emergencies, detecting the priority acute/emergency cases, carrying out first aid care and referring them to the doctor when necessary

  • Carrying out admission, surveillance and follow-up of patients (i.e. assessment of the evolution of their state of health and the identification of any emergency situation or deterioration

  • Carrying and supervising administrative procedures and documents (fill in patient’s files, forms, consumptions, statistics, registers, health files, etc.), ensuring an appropriate written/oral handover, and reporting any problematic situations and cases that may arise. Participating in data collection and keeping doctors/supervisors informed.

  • Participating in the department-related pharmacy and medical equipment control and maintenance (quality and its functioning, storage conditions, follow-up of expired drugs inventories, stock takes of medicines and material at every team changeover ensuring no material is taken out of nursing area/wards without prior authorization, etc.)

  • Perform cleaning and minor maintenance for biomedical equipment used. Following the user manual and protocols and alert supervisor in case of malfunctioning.

Requirements

  • Education: Essential recognized nurse degree/diploma. Desirable Bachelor in Science of Nursing and pediatric experience. License to practice. 

  • Experience:   Desirable 2 years of previous experience and previous experience in other NGO’s

  • Languages: Essential Greek and English. Desirable French, Arabic, Farsi

Main purpose

To collaborate with MSF medical staff on the integration of psychiatric treatment with basic healthcare services in order to insure the treatment of patients suffering from severe and common psychiatric disorders.

Main Responsibilities of the Position

  • Provide treatment for patients suffering from severe and common psychiatric disorders with specific attention to the cultural context.

  • Provide training and supervision to national and international medical staff (doctors and nurses) on diagnosis and treatment of severe and common mental health disorders according to MSF guidelines

  • Participate as a member of the mental health team when present and offer supervision and support to national psychologists and counsellors

  • Ensure that guidelines and psychotropic medications from MSF standard drug list are available in the project

  • Ensure that proper information on treatment and follow up are collected in order to monitor the provision of care.

  • Evaluate in-country available psychiatric services including possibilities for psychiatric hospitalization and the quality of these services.

  • Form a relationship with MoH and exploration of sustainability of psychiatric treatment.

  • Establish collaboration/communication with medical specialties in the project in order to achieve a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.

Requirements

  • Completed Psychiatric residence, license to practice

  • At least 3 years’ experience in clinical care to adults/children

  • Desirable experience: Experience with migrants is an asset and/or traumatized refugees and psychotherapy. Previous experience with MSF.

  • Previous field experience with MSF in different contexts essential

4) Cultural Mediator Supervisor

Project: Rehabilitation of migrant survivors of torture

Location: Athens

Starting Date: Immediately

Working hours: Full-Time (5 days a week)

Background of the Project

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has been providing medical and humanitarian assistance to migrants and refugees worldwide.

Since October 2014 MSF provides support to migrants and refugees who have suffered torture and other forms of ill-treatment. Our aim is to offer integrated rehabilitation services, including medical care, physiotherapy, and psychosocial support. In particular, for survivors of torture and ill-treatment, MSF works in close collaboration with the Prometheus II project, implemented by the Greek Council for Refugees and BABEL Day Centre. 

Accountabilities

  • Functioning as the focal point for all other Cultural Mediators, representing them, when needed, writing monthly reports, getting in contact with other focal points/ supervisors of MSF team to ensure good collaboration.

  • Planning and organizing the work of the cultural mediators (days, absences, visits, holidays, etc.) and coordinating their allocation throughout the working day, in coordination with the receptionists.

  • Contributing, in close collaboration with the Field Coordinator/Project Medical Referent and HR Dpt. and based on context and Operational strategy, to define the HR demand and its specificities (affectation/profile/language/gender) and to successfully recruit at local and national level. Supervising, supporting and evaluating the team under his/her responsibility.

  • Designing, in collaboration with the Project Medical Referent, standard procedures, guidelines and protocols for CM team.

  • Coaching cultural mediators in their work with special focus in following all appropriate protocols and procedures. Responsible for the accurate collection of statistical data required for the Cultural Mediators.

  • Identifying indicators, in close collaboration with the Field Coordinator/Project Medical Referent, in order to monitor CM support activities, results, and achievements. Reporting to Project Medical Referent any problems challenges or constrains.

  • Ensuring the wellbeing of the team through the available support, such as regular or ad hoc emotional debriefings, individually or as a group.

  • Developing and/or implementing an induction plan for Cultural Mediators, as well as trainings, in collaboration with the different departments and the Project Medical Referent.

  • Ensuring, in collaboration with the different departments, that Cultural Mediators are aware and comfortable with the most common technical terms and their usage within the different medical and socio/legal activities. Increase knowledge on technical terminology to be able to facilitate explanations to beneficiaries.

  • Developing and/or implementing, cultural awareness sessions for the MSF team.

  • Ensuring the patient’s related information is kept confidential.

  • Performing, when needed, the task of a Cultural Mediator.

Qualifications

  • Higher education Degree in social sciences, communication, languages, paramedical or teaching desirable.

  • Previous experience in teaching, nursing or social work, community mobilization preferable.

  • Demonstrable experience in managing or supervising others in a team.

  • Previous work in refugee settings desirable.

  • Languages: Essential English or Greek, desirable (one or more of the following) French/Farsi/Arabic

Respecting medical secrets and confidentiality at all times.

  • Organizing and carrying out care and treatments according to medical prescriptions, and assisting during consultations and other medical procedures. Participating in health education of the patient (and family) when necessary.

  • Identifying Sexually Gender Based Violence victims and referring them to the medical team so they can receive the necessary treatment. Knowing and is aware of the importance and appropriate use of the Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) Kit.

  • Ensuring patients are properly received and installed and that those with lack of autonomy are assisted, especially regarding their feeding, personal hygiene, movements and comfort. Ensuring triage of patients in waiting areas, wards or during emergencies, detecting the priority acute/emergency cases, carrying out first aid care and referring them to the doctor when necessary.

  • Supporting the access of patients to other health facilities through our referral system, accompanying patients, liaising with external health actors, and ensuring appropriate follow-up as outlined by the doctors.

  • Sending material to be sterilized and recuperates it from sterilization.

  • Carrying out admission, surveillance and follow-up of patients (i.e. assessment of the evolution of their state of health and the identification of any emergency situation or deterioration.

  • Carrying administrative procedures and documents (fill in patient’s files, forms, consumptions, statistics, registers, health files, etc.), ensuring an appropriate written/oral handover, and reporting any problematic situations and cases that may arise. Fill in all necessary registers and health files, participating in data collection and keeping doctors/supervisors informed.

  • Participating in the department-related pharmacy and medical equipment control and maintenance (quality and its functioning, storage conditions, follow-up of expired drugs inventories, stock takes of medicines and material at every team changeover ensuring no material is taken out of nursing area/wards without prior authorization, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Nurse degree/diploma. License to practice.

  • Essential 2 years’ experience minimum as a Nurse.

  • Desirable previous experience with MSF or any other NGO`s.

  • Desirable experience in supervising and training others in a team setting.

  • Essential Greek and English language.
